Routine Cleaning

Our team of hygienists provide routine hygiene services. Frequent dental cleaning is essential as it can help to prevent the onset of numerous oral diseases.

Flossing

To properly floss, wind the floss around both of your index fingers and push it between each of your teeth. Make sure to freely move the floss upwards, downwards and even sideways to remove any food particles or plaque that may be lodged between your teeth or under the gums. Be careful not to be too rough, as this could damage your delicate gum tissue.

Brushing

Brushing your teeth is an important part of your oral hygiene routine. It can help to prevent the development of gum disease or other serious dental problems. Unsure if you are brushing your teeth properly? We’ll give you a brief summary of how you should be brushing to ensure a proper cleaning!

You should hold the brush at a 45-degree angle to your teeth. Rotate the bristles across your teeth and under your gums with a backward and forward motion. Be sure to also get the top surfaces of your teeth where you bite or chew on food as well as the inside surfaces of your teeth. Your tongue can also be cleaned with your toothbrush, which will help reduce bad breath.

When brushing, it is important to use toothpaste that contains fluoride. Fluoride hardens the enamel of your teeth which prevents cavities and also reduces bacteria accumulation in your mouth. It can also reverse the formation of smaller cavities.

Lastly, antibacterial rinses can help reduce the amount of bacteria in the mouth. Please don’t hesitate to ask us if you have any additional questions about hygiene.
